The matatu crackdown  is taking a new twist as  Interior CS Fred Matiangi has moved from words to action.

Interior CS Matiangi has today impressed Kenyans after he made stops at traffic police checks at Gilgil & Naivasha to inspect the progress in the enforcement of traffic rules. The CS encouraged motorists & other road users to leverage the power of collective responsibility in ensuring road safety.

The CS has been lauded for this move as Kenyans went ahead to suggest the regions that he should visit to see how rogue drivers are still  defying the Michuki Laws.

It has been  a couple weeks now and Kenyans are already seeing the result and effects of the matatu crackdown after the reinstating of the Michuki Laws.

Fred Matiangi had early in a public event warned Kenyans not to allow themselves to give bribe to the police but instead report  through the recent system that was launched where Kenyans can file their complaints.

Matiangi also added that they want to clean up the police force and indeed he means business. The tough CS has been known for cracking down the whip and giving directives to tackle the offences as it should be.

Have you seen that the Michuki rules are indeed working?  Yesterday 15 police officers were arrested with over 11000 Kenyan shillings during the crackdown in Matuga in Likoni.

The Michuki rules are surely putting the rogues in their place  and  Kenyans are now seeing the change.

In His message to Kenyans who had been publicly crying foul, Matiangi told them that they should anonymously take photos and report officers who take bribe so that they many be brought to book.

“Take pictures anonymously and send them to us so that we can read the numbers for ourselves or police officers who are receiving bribes or doing monkey business.

We too want to clean up even in the police force so that we get rid of those who are not serving the people the way they are supposed to do.

When you tell me police officers are taking bribes.. from who? from you..you are giving them bribe. Give us the names,” he said
