Christian Eriksen has confidently confirmed that Tottenham are the best football team in London.
The Danish superstar was a key man at Wembley as Tottenham destroyed Chelsea tonight 3-1 to move up to 3rd in the Premier League table and with it they have become the highest placed team from the capital.
The team in white ran all over Chelsea for 90 minute and could have won the game by a bigger margin and Eriksen was clearly in confident mood in the post match interview.
Jake Humphrey asked Eriksen if Spurs are the best team in London on BT Sport and the response was emphatic and confident.
At the moment, yes.
It was a straightforward answer but one that will have been music to the ears of the Tottenham squad and fans who have long lived in the shadow of their London rivals in the form of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Spurs will have another chance to prove themselves as the best in London next weekend when they face old rivals Arsenal but for the time being at least, there is no doubt that Eriksen is right.
Chelsea were exposed in a huge way at Wembley as they lost their unbeaten record in remarkable circumstances and the future once against looks bright for Tottenham.
The new White Hart Lane should be ready in the new year after a long day and the hope will be that that they can drag themselves into a title race in their new surroundings.
