Women are important part of our communities. They basically help in molding and upholding of societal values and virtues.
But how can someone prove their support to women not only your spouse or partner but the entire fraternity?
The women in our African society live under the monopoly of men. Everywhere you go , the men are always dominating. The women are struggling to raise their voices that they might be heard and have a share in the splitting of the national cake.
The women even today are tabling a bill to push for a 2/3 gender rule. The women want more representation in the national assembly.
The Deputy President has expressed his support for the bill saying it will empower women. The President Uhuru Kenyatta has added voice seconded by Nasa principles Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.
The Deputy President has launched a campaign to ensure that domestic violence is tamed. It also aims at promoting access to justice and safeguard interests of children. This is aimed at ending the more cases of violence in the homes and also protect children. This comes as the world celebrates the day of the child.
The Government supports establishment of a mediation centre by Fida that will aid amicable resolution of family disputes. This is a positive effort by the Deputy President to empower more women and make them rise towards the caliber and be on the same wavelength with men in the society.
