Recent revelations that have been exposed in a documentary by investigative Journalist John Allan Namu has left many Kenyans in shock and somehow the mystery continues to unravel. This comes weeks after Monica Kimani’s murder and allegations that she was linked to one of the South Sudanese politician who is alleged to be partly her source of wealth. Even after the father to Monica Kimani revealed that he knew this said politician, days later, the man spoke saying that he knew nothing about the family and had never met them. Investigators to the murder of Monica Kimani said that the case would involve investigations to be carried out in South Sudan where Monica Kimani is said to have had a business.
With this recent documentary exposing the South Sudanese politicians, money laundering and how they move to other countries where they spend their wealth with so much ‘ease’, some Kenyans feel that the mystery behind Monica KImani’s murder is slowly starting to unravel. As they earlier said, ‘There is more behind this story”
On her trip to Kenya, before her murder , It is alleged that Monica Kimani was carrying large amounts of cash far above the maximum of hard currency one is allowed out of South Sudan but Awet allegedly used his influence to grant her safe passage.
Following this revelations, Kenyans have taken to twitter to express their concerns.
I have ever asked of these SUVs around Nairobi town. Karen, Lavington, kilimani etc bearing SSD number plates. Kumbe these are the guys who have milked South Sudan dry and are enjoying life in Nairobi. They are worse than Satan. #TheProfiteers

Kenya is harbouring south Sudan’s war criminals while very publicly claiming to be at the forefront of the South Sudan peace process. Sad that we don’t have a foreign policy on international money laundering through the country given our geopolitics. #TheProfiteers

Watched part 1 of #TheProfiteers & wonder why govts of Kenya & Uganda are pretending to want peace in South Sudan while hosting warlords.
The warlords & their families are living large & comfortably in Kenya & Uganda while back home it’s death, destruction & suffering. So sad!
