The special thing Sharon’s father does to her dead body everyday

The father to the late Sharon Otieno, Douglas Otieno, on Monday revealed that she had been seeing his daughter’s dead body everyday as a way of coping with her death.
The primary school teacher spoke after Migori Governor Okoth Obado was arraigned in court where he took a not guilty plea.

According to Douglas, he ensures that she sees her daughter’s corpse at the morgue, saying the sessions have helped him grieve his first born.

“There, I often ask the attendants to bring her body to me. I sit beside it, touching and observing it. It satisfies my heart to just see it,” Douglas said.

The family has said that their daughter’s body would be buried until her murder case is resolved.

The father has already expressed hope of justice being served following the arrest and prosecution of Sharon’s boyfriend – Governor Obado.

Obado is being held at the Industrial Area Remand Prison before a court session on Tuesday where the judge will rule on his legal team’s application to have him released on bail.

Sharon’s father has opposed the idea of giving bail to the governor – fearing that his freedom could see witnesses intimidated.

“It would have been very bad if they had freed him on bail. He could probably have met with other suspects who are yet to be arrested,” said Douglas.
