Ronaldo was tensed at Juventus, here is why

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo finally opened his Serie A account with a brace in the weekend’s  2-1 win over Sassuolo and in post-match pre-conference The Portuguese forward admitted that he was a little tense by the lack of goals.

Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid in a shock summer move with the deal reported to be around £100M. The former Real Madrid ace failed to score in the opening three games against Chievo Verona, Lazio and Parma. Ronaldo took some time to adapt to Italian football and missed changes that he would have easily buried at Real Madrid.

The former Manchester United star admitted that he was worried about his goal drought in the Serie A prior to the Sassuolo game, “This is football. The important thing is that the team wins. Obviously, I was a little tense with all the talk after my move from Real Madrid and not scoring, so there were a lot of expectations, but I thank my team-mates for supporting me throughout. I knew that I was working well and it was only a matter of time. I am adapting well to Italian football.”

Juventus next face Valencia in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday 19th September and Ronaldo is confident ahead of the tie, “The Champions League is my favorites tournament,” he said. “It’s a very difficult group, we know that we can do well and Juve must focus on being the best.”
