Okoth Obado: Please I need your Prayers

Migori governor Okoth Obado has asked his electorate and the people of Migori County to continue praying for him during this trying moments when he is being accused of murdering his former lover Sharon Otieno.

‘I want to thank the people of Migori, my supporters and also the well wishers who have been with me in prayers that they should continue praying for me through out this endeavors’ said the governor during a press conference in Nairobi.

Obado also denied having anything to do with Sharon’s murder.

‘I want to state here clearly that I have absolutely nothing to do with the cruel death of Sharon and I want to urge all the agencies that are mandated with investigations to speed up their work so that the real killers can be brought to book.’

He asked the media to stop medieval punishments and proclamations ‘so that our agencies that are charged with investigation are given time to do their job.’

The Governor addressed the press at Serena Hotel in Nairobi County flanked by his wife Hellen Okoth, daughter Evaline Okoth and son Jerry Okoth.

Mr. Obado was grilled for more than eight hours by detectives at the Nyanza Police Headquarters in Kisumu. His blood was also taken for DNA as part of the investigations.

Sharon Otieno’s mutilated body was found in a thicket in Kodera forest two days after he was lured to abduction by Michael Oyamo, the governor’s Personal assistant.
