Obado: I have Nothing and Absolutely Nothing to Do with Sharon’s murder

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has said he had “nothing and absolutely nothing” to do with the brutal murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

“I want to state here clearly that I have absolutely nothing to do with the cruel death of Sharon and I want to urge all the agencies that are mandated with investigations to speed up their work so that the real killers can be brought to book.”

I want to say that I’m ready and willing whenever I will be called upon to give further statements so that the real killers of Sharon can be brought to book.”

The Governor addressed the press at Serena Hotel in Nairobi County flanked by his wife Hellen Okoth, daughter Evaline Okoth and son Jerry Okoth.

Mr. Obado was grilled for more than eight hours by detectives at the Nyanza Police Headquarters in Kisumu. His blood was also taken for DNA as part of the investigations.

Sharon Otieno’s mutilated body was found in a thicket in Kodera forest two days after he was lured to abduction by Michael Oyamo, the governor’s Personal assistant.

It is believed that the governor had a love relationship with the Rongo University student. An autopsy report revealed that the seven month pregnant woman was gang-raped before being stabbed eight times.
