Coach David Ouma has named the starting lineup to face Rwanda in Kenya’s final match of the 2018 CECAFA Women Championships in Rwanda.
The coach will miss the services of defender Vivian Nasaka who picked a knock in Starlets’ last match against Ethiopia. Cynthia Shilwatso will also miss out having accumulated two yellow cards.
The match is set to kick off at 5.30 pm EAT at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo
Starting XI Monica Karambu (GK), Phelistus Kadari, Elizabeth Ambogo, Dorcas Shikobe, Wendy Achieng, Ruth Ingosi, Cheris Avilia, Mwanahalima Adam, Mercy Achieng, Neddy Atieno, Esse Akida
Substitutes Poline Atieno, Sheryl Angachi, Carolyne Anyango, Terry Engesha, Lilian Adera, Martha Amunyolete, Anita Adongo.
Meanwhile despite suffering the third defeat in the ongoing CECAFA Women Championship to Ethiopia, Harambee Starlets boss David Ouma is happy with his charges’ showing and believes that they only need to show character to pick a positive result.
Tarlets went to the 2018 CECAFA Women’s championship as one of the main favorites but could leave the tournament in last position.
This is because the team has managed to score once and picked only one point from the three games. They end their poor campaign with a clash against hosts Rwanda who still have a slight chance of winning the title.
Their head coach David Ouma has promised to give Rwanda a run for their money as they seek to end on a high.
“The girls have been winning games before the tournament but sometimes things don’t always work the way you expect, however, we shall put our best performance in the last game [vs Rwanda],” said Ouma.
Analyze performance
“From here, we shall go and analyze where we went wrong and correct but first, we have to win today’s game and end the tournament on a positive note.”
The match that will be staged at the Kigali Stadium, kicks off at 5:30 PM local time.
