Meanwhile despite suffering the third defeat in the ongoing CECAFA Women Championship to Ethiopia, Harambee Starlets boss David Ouma is happy with his charges’ showing and believes that they only need to show character to pick a positive result.

A 1-0 loss to in the third match played at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo in Kigali on Wednesday saw the 2016 runners-up remain bottom of the standings with just a point. The results ended Kenya’s dream of winning the regional title.
The tactician believes that his side has a number of quality players and they need to fight more in such competitions. He has urged the players to keep fighting and play for the fans.
” I want to thank my players for a good show despite the outcome of the match. They are quality players and I need them to have the character while approaching matches so that they can register better results going forward. I want to urge them to continue fighting on because we are here to represent our fans and anyone out there who supports us,” Ouma.
His counterpart Kedebe Zeray admitted that it was a tough encounter but he is delighted that they managed to defend well and picked a result that they were looking for.
“It was a tough game but we held onto the lead and got the result we wanted,”he said.
Ethiopia have now amassed six points same as Uganda.

Tarlets went to the 2018 CECAFA Women’s championship as one of the main favorites but could leave the tournament in last position.

This is because the team has managed to score once and picked only one point from the three games. They end their poor campaign with a clash against hosts Rwanda who still have a slight chance of winning the title.

Their head coach David Ouma has promised to give Rwanda a run for their money as they seek to end on a high.

“The girls have been winning games before the tournament but sometimes things don’t always work the way you expect, however, we shall put our best performance in the last game [vs Rwanda],” said Ouma.

Analyze performance

“From here, we shall go and analyze where we went wrong and correct but first, we have to win today’s game and end the tournament on a positive note.”

The match that will be staged at the Kigali Stadium, kicks off at 5:30 PM local time.
