Alexis Sanchez has broken his silence amid speculation that he won’t be present at all during Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States.
The Chile star was absent as Jose Mourinho and his United squad – minus its World Cup stars – flew to the US from Manchester Airport on Sunday, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Sanchez, who returned to pre-season at Carrington last Wednesday, was not on the check-in list as United prepared to board their flight to Los Angeles.
The 29-year-old was spotted leaving Cibo Restaurant in Wilmslow, Cheshire on Sunday afternoon after lunching with friends and was expected to fly to the United States with his teammates later that night.
Supporters were left confused by Sanchez’s omission after he was pictured and filmed in training on the club’s social media platforms in the week. However Sanchez has broken his silence on social media and all seems to be well.
Sanchez took to his personal Instagram account to post a short video of himself smiling as he showcased his new shaved haircut along with the caption: “New Style, New Season.”
It is not known why the former Arsenal player has been given extra time off by Jose Mourinho however he is expected to be available when the new Premier League campaign kicks off against Leicester on August 10.
