Manchester United have already held talks with Lazio over Sergej Milinkovic-Savic but Chelsea could now hijack their attempts to sign the £100m-rated midfielder. The 23-year-old represented Serbia at the 2018 World Cup finals this summer and he’s caught the attention of several top clubs with TeamTalk claiming that Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are among those to have registered their interest. United stepped-up their pursuit for Milinkovic-Savic last week as reports from Il Messagero, via TeamTalk, claimed that the Manchester outfit have opened talks with Lazio over a potential deal worth around £100m. Jose Mourinho has already signed Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer but it seems the United boss is hoping to sign another midfielder and Milinkovic-Savic would be a marquee addition if they could lure him to Old Trafford.
Milinkovic-Savic joined Lazio from Genk in 2015 and is now considered to be one of the most sought-after players in European football after providing 14 goals and 9 assists to help the Italian giants finish fifth in the Serie A table last season – which saw them narrowly miss out on Champions League qualification.
