Liverpool goalkeeper repeat Champions League blunder in friendly

Liverpool won their second pre-season game of the summer at Tranmere’s Prenton Park, but Loris Karius was once again the star of the show for all the wrong reasons. Loris Sven Karius is a German professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Liverpool. He represented Germany at youth level.

Jurgen Klopp played two completely different sides for the meeting with their League Two neighbours, and it was the first half XI he had to thank for ultimately winning the game, following on from Saturday’s 7-0 victory at Chester.

The lively right-hand side duo of Rafa Camacho and Sheyi Ojo both scored in the first period as they caused havoc down Tranmere’s left, with Adam Lallana finishing smartly for a third before the break.

But after changing his entire team, Klopp saw his side disintegrate in the second period. Karius dropped Oliver Norburn’s free-kick at the feet of Jonny Smith to pull one back for the hosts in the second period, with Amadou Soukouna grabbing a second after an error from Pedro Chirivella.
