Unai Emery continued to step up the intensity of pre-season training for his Arsenal stars with an exhausting session on the hottest day of the year so far. The likes of Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi and Calum Chambers were hardly able to stand come the end of the session with temperatures nearing 30 degrees.
Despite the heat, Emery ensured he got every last ounce of energy out of his players with another gruelling workout at the club’s London Colney base. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has clearly stayed in shape during the summer, looked to be faring far better than the majority of his team-mates as he caught his breath the end of the first week of pre-season training.
While some of his players continue away at the World Cup, Emery cut an animated figure as he continued to look to imprint his philosophy ahead of the new campaign.
The Spaniard was pictured issuing clear instructions to Bellerin and the rest of the squad as he neared the end of his firs full week on the training pitch.
