Why Sweden will be a huge test for England- Sven-Goran Eriksson explains

Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has claimed that his former side would have been better off facing Brazil over Sweden in the quarter-finals. England progressed through to the latter stages of the competition in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night against Colombia.

They were hard worked by the South American side who were able to take Gareth Southgate’s side all the way to penalties. Jordan Pickford was the hero of the night but it’s straight onto the next game if the three lions want to go all the way.

Now, Swedish football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has claimed that his former side England would have had an easier time facing Brazil than they will against Sweden.

“It would be easier for England to beat Brazil than to beat Sweden in my opinion, Sweden today are a very hard team to break down,’ he explained, as quoted by the Daily Mail.  Their strikers are defenders when it’s time to defend and they can defend in their own box as well.If you woke them up in the middle of the night, they would know every position in defending – any possibility in the game, they know what to do. It’ll be the most difficult game they’ll have played so far.”
