Chelsea could be set to make a major announcement as early as today, with their plan to appoint a new manager understood to be close to completion.
The Sun reports that Chelsea could name former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as their new manager, and add that one of his first transfer targets will be the Russian playmaker Aleksandr Golovin, who has impressed at the World Cup.
That would, of course, bring an end to Antonio Conte’s time at Stamford Bridge, having endured mixed results in his two seasons there with a Premier League title, an FA Cup triumph and a failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
