Sadio Mane gave Senegal the lead with an easy tap-in in the 12th minute but Takashi Inui curled in a beauty in the 34th minute to ensure the game was even at halftime.

Wague thought he had given Senegal all the three points when he scored in the 74th minute but Keisuke Honda capitalized on poor goalkeeping to level the scores three minutes later.
