According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool are preparing to break the British transfer record for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio, however, this news is being met with some scepticism from fans.
The fee Liverpool are said to be willing to pay is a staggering £158 million, which would indeed be the most expensive transfer in British history, surpassing Manchester United’s Paul Pogba who cost United in the region of £93 million.
Asensio is also a very versatile player who can play left wing, centre attacking midfield, right wing, centre mid and as a secondary striker.
