Huge blow for Brazil ahead of Serbia showdown

Brazil have been hit with yet more injury worries as it is today being reported that both Douglas Costa and Danilo will miss Brazil’s final group game vs Serbia. Danilo’s injury is not too serious. However, Douglas Costa could miss the rest of the 2018 World Cup.

Brazil played Switzerland in their opening group game. But they failed to get off to a winning start.

Brazil were held to a 1-1 draw and star man Neymar failed to make a real impact, instead, Phillip Coutinho scored a screamer to earn Brazil a point.

Coutinho would once again be Brazil’s saviour in their last game vs Costa Rica.

Brazil struggled to break down a resilient Costa Rica side for the full 90 minutes. But just like vs Switzerland, Coutinho would step up and score a 91st-minute winner for his country.

This was also Brazil’s first ever goal in injury time at a World Cup. Neymar then added a second in the 97th minutes.

However, Brazil are by no means home and dry in Group E and a loss against Serbia would see them fail to make it out of the group.
