AC Milan to be removed from Europa League

UEFA has reportedly decided to remove AC Milan from next season’s Europa League after the club failed to improve their standing with FFP.

For a number of months, it has been suggested that the Italian giants must raise funds in order to comply with FFP regulations, and club president Yonghong Li is currently looking for outside investors to ease Milan’s financial issues.

However, a solution is yet to be found and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, UEFA has decided to punish Milan by banning the club from European football during the next campaign.

The report claims that the announcement will be made on Monday with Milan also been handed a fine of €30m (£26.38m), although an immediate appeal is expected to be launched.

Milan could potentially look to part ways with a number of players to ease their financial burden, and clubs are likely to try to tempt Milan into sales in the coming weeks.
