Portugal head coach Fernando Santos said Diego Costa’s first goal for Spain against his team, should not have stood. Portugal captain Ronaldo converted a penalty for the opening goal after four minutes but Spanish forward, Diego Costa appeared to have fouled Portugal defender Pepe in the build-up to his equalizer, the first of his brace for Spain, in their 3-3 draw in Sochi on Friday.
“…the first Costa goal there was a fall against Pepe, it’s absolutely clear,” Santos said post-match.
