New Real Madrid manager, Julen Lopetegui was sacked by the Spanish national team just a day after the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League winners announced him as their replacement for Zinedine Zidane who left the club after leading them to three successive UCL victories. This latest development came as a shock and has led to a lot of reactions from football fans on Twitter. It was earlier confirmed by the Spanish FA that the 51-year old would depart following the 2018 World Cup but a change in decision led to his sack just a day to the 2018 FIFA World Cup two days before Spain’s Group B opener against Portugal. Former Real Madrid player and coach assistant Fernando Hierro will replace Lopetegui as Spain’s national team Manager. However, football fans took to Twitter to pour out their reactions as regards Lopentegui’s shocking sack.
Xavi Hernandez: “I don’t think Rubiales’ decision to sack Lopetegui was an easy one but I agree with it.”
In 2008, Luis Aragonés announced his departure to Fenerbahçe before the Euros semifinals but Xavi didn’t want him sacked. I guess when it’s Real Madrid everything changes. ? pic.twitter.com/kk3YG4WkB4— SB (@Realmadridplace) June 13, 2018
AS reporting Real Madrid won’t have to pay the €2m release clause in Lopetegui’s contract since he’s been sacked.
Florentino Pérez is an evil genius. https://t.co/GL9wpxo0ho

Perez managed to get Lopetegui fired, so he can focus on Real Madrid, & get Hierro, RMD legend, appointed as a replacement.

Fernando Hierro has been hired to lead the Spain in the World Cup, moments after they sacked Real Madrid-bound Lopetegui.
My question is, if Hierro wasn’t able to stop Edilson in 2000 as Madrid captain, what makes him think he’ll stop Jesus from the sidelines in 2018? pic.twitter.com/bu0uni9Slu

Lopetegui sacked by Spain. Not surprised, really. Real Madrid disrespected the Spanish National team by announcing Lopetegui as new manager on the eve of the World Cup. You don’t do that. You wait.

This turn of events must be truly shocking for Lopetegui. I can’t imagine how he feels. He had a really tough job to rejuvenate Spain’s squad. He did it and right before the biggest task, but also a reward, he got sacked… He must be devastated.

Hearing the Spanish FA were told about Lopetegui 5 mins before Real Madrid announced it. Los Blancos pretty much forcing the FA’s hand if that’s the case. What Spain have built over the last 20 years needs safeguarding. Bigger than any individual. Snakey behaviour from Perez…

Lopetegui is the one loosing most here. If Spain does well, they laugh at him. If Spain underperforms, they will blame him.
And imagine if he gets sack by RM after 18 games…— Abdoul-Moudjib (@AbdoulMoudjib) June 13, 2018
Thank God they’re going to use VAR in La Liga next season or this Johnny Sins lookalike baldie would have done everything to make us relegate after all the Lopetegui drama ?? pic.twitter.com/WiM0sfQEDc
