Belgium striker, Romelu Lukaku is potentially missing out on a £1 million pay day by not committing to a new boot deal with Nike or any sportswear manufacturer. The Machester United star had a previous deal with Nike but he refused to commit with the brand for the 2017-2018 season. Indeed, the former Everton star had been sported wearing different brands of boots for both club and country this past year.
He is on the few players of his caliber that still spends money on his footwear. However, the Lukaku seems not to be bothered about his unique situation stating that “It’s the player who makes the boots, not the other way around.”
The 25-year-old striker had a remarkable debut season with Manchester United and he is expected to spearhead his country’s attack at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
