2018 World Cup: Why the Super Eagles will not get to the knockout stage in Russia

Accord to world renowned insurance firm, Lloyd, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will not reach the knockout stages of this year’s World Cup due to their insurance and reinsurance value after the Nigerian side was ranked seventeenth in the firm’s valuation index.

Using the same method in 2014, Lloyd successfully predict that Germany would win the World Cup and this year, France is ranked the highest among teams that is likely to win in Russia due to the market value and insurance value of their players.

Coming second on the list is the Three Lions of England, while, South American giants, Brazil are third. Current holders, Germany seems to have depreciated in value in the las couple of year as they are firth on the table while Belgium complete the top five list of countries.

Lloyd reached its conclusion by looking at the overall value of the team which is determined by the quality of the players and their market and insurance value. The team with the highest market value most likely have the best quality collection of players thereby increasing their chances of winning the World Cup.
