Gor Mahia Succesfully Defend Super Cup title with a 2-0 win over Simba

Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge scored the all important goals as Gor Mahia successfully defended the trophy they won last year in a packed Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Kagere opened the scoring with his weaker left foot after some piece of good skill from Francis Kahata on the right side. The goal was the Rwandese striker’s fourth in the tournament and gave him the golden boot. The match finished 1-0 at half time but the scoreline didn’t tell the whole story since Simba were outclassed completely.

Coach Dylan Kerr’s boys dominated the proceedings in the second half and their high pressing game was rewarded with a second goal in the 55th minute this time from record signing Jacques Tuyisenge.

Kogalo will now travel to Liverpool to face Everton at the Goodison Park in July. The two teams met in a friendly last year a match that ended 2-1 in favor of the English side.

The win also ensured that Gor walked away with a 3 million cash Prize.
