Marco Silva new boss has insisted the door is still open for Wayne Rooney to stay at Everton rather than make the move to Major League Soccer following reports linking him to DC United.
The former Watford boss said: “He has already started his deal (talks). Rooney is a club legend and we need to understand everything. The door is open every time for him.”
Director of football at Everton Marcel Brands added there is a possibility he -Rooney- will leave but also noted that the club will talk with him.”
