Crystal Palace ace appears in court, admits thrashing bouncer

Crystal Palace captain Jason Puncheon has admitted thrashing a bouncer with his belt during a ‘street’ brawl outside a nightclub.

The 31-year old appeared at Staines Magistrates’ Court this morning for what was due to be the start of his trial but changed his plea.

The Palace ace, who was out with his wife and a pair of friends on the said night, claims he was acting in self defence. He admitted a section 4 public order offence of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence.
