Manchester United Negotiating Fee With FC Porto For Diogo Dalot

Manchester United are trying to agree a fee with FC Porto for Diogo Dalot rather than triggering the release clause in his contract.

The 19-year-old defender is close to making a move to Manchester United this summer after it emerged that the Premier League giants have made a move for him.

He has a €20m release clause in his contract with Porto and Manchester United are reportedly prepared to active the clause in order to take him to Old Trafford.

A highly rated talent, Dalot has only made eight senior appearances for the Portuguese giants and other than Manchester United, other clubs are also interested.
However, it has been claimed that Manchester United are looking at triggering the release clause as a last resort and are eyeing agreeing a fee with Porto.

According to the Press Association, there is a good chance the two clubs could reach an agreement over a fee without Manchester United needing to trigger the €20m release clause.

Dalot has already informed Porto that he wants to leave the club this summer and is said to have agreed personal terms with Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho is hopeful of completing a deal to sign his compatriot in the coming days.
