Ipswich Town appoint new manager

Paul Hurst is Ipswich Town’s new manager after signing a three year deal with the club.

Hurst guided Shrewsbury Fc to the highest ever finish in League One, third,  in 27 seven years despite appearing to be relegation favourites at the onset of the campaign.

His performance at Shrewsbury convinced the owner of Ipswich, Marcus Evans, to have him in his target list.

“His skill, experience and reputation enhanced by his recent success at Shrewsbury had placed him, from the start of the process, on my shortlist of candidates, resulting in the need to wait until after the League One Play-Off final to reach a final decision.” Evans, the club.s owner said.

Hurst will be deputized by his assistant at Shrewsbury Chris Doig
