City to hand Foden new deal

Manchester City are not intending to send youngster Phil Foden on loan next season as the Premier League champions prepare to tie the prodigiously talented young midfielder to a lucrative new long-term contract despite interests by numerous premier league to have him on loan.

Foden, who just turned 18, friends, is widely regarded as one of the most exciting talents in Europe and has been coveted by most of the continent’s elite for years.

The England Under-19 midfielder has two years left to run on the first professional contract he signed at 17 and talks over a new deal are planned for the summer. All parties are relaxed about the situation and negotiations are expected to progress smoothly.

Foden made 10 appearances under Pep Guardiola last season.
