Neymar speaks out on Real Madrid rumours and the World Cup

Neymar has today squashed rumours that he will be joining Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer.

Neymar joined Ligue 1 side PSG just one year ago for a world record fee of 222 million Euros.

Despite being injured for a large part of the season, Neymar was still very impressive for PSG in his debut year.

The Brazilian played 30 games in all competitions during the 2017/18 season, in which he scored 28 and assisted 18.

Neymar also helped guide PSG to the domestic treble as they won the Ligue 1 title and both French cups.

Now, however, after just one season at PSG, rumours have been circulating that Neymar could be set for a return to Spain.

In a recent interview regarding a potential move to Real Madrid Neymar stated,

“My focus is Brazil, people are talking nonsense and that is not worth answering,”

This would suggest that Neymar will not be on the move this summer, great news for any PSG fans out there.

As mentioned above, Neymar is now focused on Brazil and the 2018 World Cup.

Neymar has only recently recovered from his foot injury which he suffered in February. However, he believes he will be fine for the World Cup.

“Physically I am well, my foot is fine. I am adapting to a few things. I still feel some discomfort, but it is not something that will trouble me,

“Not 100 percent yet. But that comes with time. It is normal that I have this fear of making complete movements.

“Let’s take it easy, there are still many days until the [World Cup] opener and I will be 100 percent then.”

“I am ready to play, there is nothing that can stop me,”

“What I feel today is this fear because I am coming back now.”

So, while Neymar is not yet 100%, it does look like he will be ready when the World Cup kicks off next month.
