Gareth Bale urged to make Man United transfer and ‘write a new chapter as a leader’

Rio Ferdinand has urged Real Madrid‘s Champions League final hero Gareth Bale to return to the Premier League and “write a new chapter as a leader”.

Bale scored two goals, the first a stunning overhead kick, as Liverpool were beaten in Kiev to claim Real’s third triumph on the trot.

While still on the pitch after full-time, Bale opened the door to a summer move having grown frustrated with a lack of starting opportunities.

Manchester United and former club Tottenham have both been linked with interest in the Welshman and Rio Ferdinand is in no doubt over his ability.

Gareth Bale says he will consider Real Madrid future

“It’s up to him to decide what he wants,” Ferdinand wrote on Instagram.

“Does he want to go somewhere and be the main man, take on the full responsibility of a club who want to win? Or does he want to remain and continue in the role he is in now, as the supporting cast?
