Cristiano Ronaldo and Premier League mocked by La Liga president

CRISTIANO RONALDO leaving Real Madrid for Manchester United would have no effect on La Liga, figures the association’s leader.

Manchester United are understood to be keen on signing Ronaldo this summer.

The Portugal international quit United for Real Madrid in 2009 and has since become one of the best players on the planet.

He confirmed after Real’s Champions League final victory on Saturday that he may leave the Bernabeu club this summer.

But La Liga president Javier Tebas says that wouldn’t be a problem and reckons Spain’s top flight can compete with the Premier League without the global superstar’s pulling power.

“Well, I think it’s nothing more than another chapter,” he said.
