Bale headed for Manchester United

Manchester United have been reported to be on the verge of signing Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale as the club’s “main objective” for the summer transfer window.

This comes after he come off the bench to score a stunning overhead kick against Liverpool in the Champions League final.

United appear to be the most likely destination for the 28-year-old – if he leaves Real – and according to AS, the North-West giants are prioritising the signing of the player this summer.

However, the report suggests that only an offer of £121m will lead to Real contemplating the sale of Bale, who they signed for £85m from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

During that time, Bale – whose contract at the Bernabeu lasts until 2022 – has netted 88 goals in 189 appearances.
