Indian Cricketer Rohit Sharma offers support to Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has extended his support to Liverpool’s goalkeeper Loris Karius, whose horrific mistakes against Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday, cost the Reds the title.

Karius, gifted Real their opening goal, when he attempted to pass the ball across Karim Benzema trying to start a quick attack, but the French striker stuck his leg out to take the ball into the net.

The German shot stopper was also at fault for Real’s third goal when he fumbled in a speculative long-range effort from Gareth Bale, who had earlier beaten Karius with a sublime bicycle-kick.

Karius was seen lying face down on the pitch after the final whistle. He even apologised to Liverpool fans in the stadium with tears gushing down his face. The 24-year-old also took the blame for the defeat, conceding that he had let his teammates and all the Liverpool fans down.

Rohit posted a message in support of the distraught footballer with a video that showed Karius walking up to the stand occupied by Liverpool fans and seeking their forgiveness.
