Gor Mahia star absence in Uganda Cranes squad explained

Gor Mahia defender Godfrey Walusimbi has been left out the Uganda Cranes squad that has traveled to Niger.

He was replaced by SC Villa midfielder Allan Kyambadde and FUFA has explained that his omission is aimed at allowing him honour club assignments.

“Gor Mahia’s Godfrey Walusimbi was left behind due to his Club’s local engagements. He was replaced by SC Villa’s midfielder Allan Kyambadde,” read a statement by FUFA.

Walusimbi scored for Gor Mahia on Sunday as they won 5-1 against SS Assad in the Shield opening round. He will be needed for the upcoming Super Cup.
