Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah trains with England ahead of World Cup

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has joined the England team for training ahead of the World Cup following the withdraw of the withdrawal of James Tarkowski from the standby list.

The 18-year-old defender was invited to replace  Tarkowski as he was leaving to undergo hernia surgery.

Chalobah has only featured in the youth set-up for the Blues, but did feature for the England Under 19 side that won the European Championships in 2017.

Manchester City youngster Angus Gunn trained with the squad in the first week of camp, but has now left the set-up following the return of Tom Heaton.

Chalobah’s brother, Nathaniel, is also training the squad after his injury-hit season at Watford.
