Kenyan defender Philip Mwene has termed his move to Bundesliga side Mainz 05 as a great opportunity to prove his qualities as a player.
The full-back crossed over from over from relegated second-tier side Kaiserslautern and hopes to cope up with the pace in the top tier.
“I am very much looking forward to my new club, my new team and my new job. I see my move to Mainz 05 as a great opportunity to prove myself on the next level. With 24 years I am not yet at the end of my development. In the Bundesliga, the level and pace of play are considerably higher, I would like to get used to that quickly. I want to help the team as quickly as possible with my strengths. I’m an offensively thinking back who always wants to be active and play forward.”
