Nakumatt Save Face With 2-1 Victory Over Tuskers


Nakumatt moved out of the bottom of the SportPesa Premier League table after an exciting 2-1 win over ten time league winners Tusker. Nakumatt had a miserable year on the pitch enjoyed some respite in recent weeks. They were expected to suffer another dent in their quest to remain among the elite. However, the basement club took the lead inside the opening ten minutes with Kelvin Thairu curling in an unstoppable shot past David okelo.

With the Nakumatt defence in sixes and sevens Boniface Muchiri picked out Brian Osumba. Osumba nervelessly drilled the ball beyond the despairing dive of Lucas and into the right hand corner of the net. It looked inevitable from then on that the brewers would go on and win the match. Still Nakumatt took the lead ten minutes after the break. Nakumatt are now on 14 points two behind Zoo Kericho who occupy the last safety position.
