Real Madrid want to sign Chelsea star Hazard with the Belgium international expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Blues’ failure to qualify for the Champions League means Hazard wants out and, given Real’s need for more attacking firepower, a stunning Bernabeu transfer could beckon.
And Spanish website Diario Gol say Real Madrid have been rocked after Chelsea conjured up a transfer plan.
The west London side are primed to lose manager Antonio Conte after two mixed years at the club.
But, despite that, Chelsea are working hard on transfers behind the scene.
And Diario Gol say the Blues have told Real they want Marco Asensio if they are to let Hazard go.
The Spain international has enjoyed a terrific year for the club and is in contention to start the Champions League final against Liverpool later this month.
The report suggests Chelsea have even found Asensio a house, such is his eagerness to sign him.
However, whether Real choose to let their forward prodigy go remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have been urged to keep hold of Hazard by Premier League legend Alan Shearer.
“Whatever happens next with Antonio Conte, Chelsea need to sort out Eden Hazard’s future too – and try to convince him to stay at the club,” he told the BBC.
