Trent Alexander-Arnold gives epic reason for joining Liverpool, not Man United

Trent Alexander-Arnold has claimed he opted for Liverpool over Manchester United when he was younger due to the fact Liverpool’s academy was closer to him and his mum doesn’t like driving on motorways, which they would have had to do if he’d moved to Man United’s youth set-up.

The star has enjoyed a remarkable rise to fame in the last season and is now going to the World Cup to boot, and has been speaking about his academy days and how vital his family are to him.

“My mum doesn’t drive on motorways.

“I think my mum and my family want to keep a close eye on me, don’t want things getting in to my head,”

“So I think for the time being, until we all reach a general agreement that I have enough to move out, then I’ll be stuck here.

“Without them I definitely wouldn’t be in the place I am now. It was always good to be able to come home and share the good moments as well as the bad moments. Just to experience everything with them and see them being proud of me is unbelievable.”

One thing Trent has done is keep his feet on the ground, and has made sure he has time for the fans and for the people of Liverpool – and that’s something the Reds supporters appreciate tenfold, with the defender well on the way to becoming a club hero – and one who could even win the Champions League this season as well, having played a huge part in the campaign.
