Manchester United fans have voted Cristiano Ronaldo their greatest ever player, with the Real Madrid forward picking up the most votes when the official website asked fans.
Ronaldo made his name at Old Trafford and was sublime in his last couple of seasons before leaving for Spain, and has beaten out players like Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and Paul Scholes to the award.
Ronaldo himself still holds United in high affection, and often speaks about the club – not to mention being linked with a return frequently.
The website also asked fans to vote on other awards, and Wayne Rooney picked up the best goal – in news that probably won’t shock anyone, with /David De Gea landing the top two positions for best save – and the best game being a win over neighbours and rivals Manchester City back in 2010/11.
