A female MCA claims she was assaulted by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s bodyguards on Tuesday. Nominated ODM MCA, Mary Mwami said she was attacked after a face-off with Sonko at City Hall. She has accused Sonko of verbally attacking her, following which, a bodyguard turned physical. Central OCPD Robinson Thuku said Mwami reported the incident that night. “She recorded a statement under OB/155/ at 9pm,” Thuku said on Thursday. “If the medical tests prove she was assaulted, we will take action and arrest the accused,” Thuku added.
“I know Jamal as we have met in various functions. He jumped on my neck, pulled me and threw me on the ground. I am a person with disability. By the time he left, I noticed he had roughed me up to the point where my bra was torn.”
