Controversial televangelist and preacher Gilbert Deya has been released on a Ksh 10 million bail.
The preacher who was jailed for stealing five children and more claiming to be miracles babies was release after Justice Luka Kimaru granted him bail after a successful application.
Lawyer John Swaka who is representing Deya told the court that his client was old and sickly, and that he had been in remand since January following the prosecution’s appeal on his bond,hence pleading with the court to be lenient to his client as he had suffered a lot in remand and cannot abscond.
In January, Justice Kimaru failed to grant the preacher’s request to be released on bail instead he directed the suspect to remain in custody waiting for the determination of his case.
