How would it feel if you found buried gold and diamonds in your backyard.
Well one couple in New York found gold, diamonds and cash into a metal box that happened to be a safe buried in their back garden.Matthew and Maria Emanuel were busy planting trees when the unbelievable happened.
The safe turned out to have $52,000 equivalent to (£38,000) that had been stolen apparently from their neighbour about seven years ago.
The couple had lived at the land for four years prior to finding the treasure.
Inside the safe, there were bags full of diamonds, gold and jade plus wads of wet $100 (£74) bills,dozens of rings, including an engagement ring, gold, $100 bills and jade. The safe also contained a piece of paper with an address on it, which linked to their neighbours.
According to the neighbours who owned the treasure,they expressed gratitude for the return of their property.
Meanwhile Matthew and Maria Emanuel have now placed a white statue of an elephant in the spot where the safe once sat, to serve as a reminder of the astonishing discovery.
