A goons’ world! Three more in court over Muriuki attack

A day after one goon, Brian Owino, surrendered to Police over the attack on businessman Timothy Muriuki at a Nairobi hotel, three more were aligned  in court over the incident on Wednesday morning.

The three suspects, Mr Michael Banya Wathigor, Mr Bernard Onganyo Otieno and Mr Benjamin Peter Mulinge, however denied the charge of violently robbing Mr Muriuki of Sh100,000 during the attack. They were released on a cash bail of KSh200,000 and their case consolidated with with that of four others charged over the same incident.

This brings the number of those arrested to seven following the disturbing events caught on camera in which Muriuki was assaulted and embarrassed for allegedly tarnishing the image of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

The cases will be mentioned on May 23, with the hearing set for July 17 this year.
