A man has been sentenced to four years in prison after he chopped off the ear of another man who said “hi” to his wife.
The wife to Mr Ajmal Mahroof is said to have been taking a walk in the park when she was approached by man who said “hi.”
The woman told the man to go his way, as her husband was nearby.
Minutes later, Mahroof pulled over the man who greeted his wife and poured out all his rage on him.
Mahroof jumped out of his car wielding a machete before bursting out:
“You have been talking to my wife, why?”
But before the man could figure out a reply, Mahroof is said to have dealt him a cut on the left year, cut him on the fingers as he blocked another swing of the machete, and chopped off his ear with the third.
A witness who saw the happenings took the picture of Mahroof’s car and presented it to the police.
He was to be arrested hours later.
Judge Khokhar told Mahroof: “It was a totally over-the-top reaction.
“This was a serious offence and the injury could have been far worse than it was.”
“It was just because you saw him talking to your partner.
“What took place between them was simply an exchange of greetings.”
