Kenyan Artist releases song promoting Bhang Legalization

The bhang debate here in Kenya is an ever rising and the side that is mostly focused on is the side effects, whether good or bad.  A Kenyan artist has, however, come out clearly stating he is a cannabis user and he proudly does that with clear visuals in his music video.

Mwaura, from Hyaquip Kenya (a science and innovation company) said he carried out research on bhang, alongside miraa and came up with a way to separate the plants’ psychotropic components and leave it safe for consumption.

The psychotropic components, which include caffeine and methanol are what give users the feeling of being high. However, once they are separated, the plant becomes safe and contains nutrients like, carbohydrates, magnesium key in boosting the body’s immunity.

Marijuana, when discussed, is within legal circles, it is usually in the context of an individual who is on trial for possession or trafficking. The individual is often arrested or goes into hiding after the police, through a heads-up, nab a vehicle transporting rolls of the ground plant.

That is about to change should a petition on whether or not marijuana should be legalised for medicinal purposes  and, if so, who should be allowed to grow it  sail through Kenya’s legislative process.

Senators Isaac Mwaura ,Fred Outa, George Khaniri ,Ledama Ole Kina and Stewart Madzayo  who supported a petition presented to the Senate by  political analyst Sammy Gwada Ogot.

Let’s wait and see if this music will help positively n legalizing  and decriminalizing the use of Marijuana.
