With the political tussle continuing to gain momentum within the Jubilee party between MPs allied to Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto, a section of the opposition seems to celebrate.
Already a group of Kalenjin MPs led by Oscar Sudi and Nandi governor Stephen Sang has been accusing the president of trying to frustrate Ruto’s bid for the presidency.
On the other hand,Former Starehe MP Maina Kamanda led team of 18 MPs accuse the DP of disrespecting the presidency.
Speaking over the weekend Kamanda said that he won’t be intimidated by those what want to silence him.
He said that the president has the back up of Kenyans in the fight against corruption.
“We are behind the head of state in the fight against corruption and those who think they will get away from it are misguided,”Kamanda said.
Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina now says that the opposition has nothing to do with the worsening conditions within the ruling Jubilee Party noting that the party might collapse on its kneel.
He cited the apparent confusion and disagreements within Jubilee, has resulted in the emergence of two factions, each preaching its own ‘gospel’ and tearing into the other
“We will not destroy Jubilee. They will destroy themselves with their confusion, disagreements, and infights. We can see two separate factions currently,” said the opposition lawmaker.
Ledama was speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s News Night, Tuesday evening, which was also attended by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei.
He called the nation’s attention to Ruto’s visit of Kiambu County during the weekend, where his supporters were seen dressed in yellow, a colour associated with his defunct United Republic Party.
A good number of opposition leaders had accused the DP of stealing the public money in preparation for 2022.
ODM senator James Orengo recently announced he plans to file a motion in the national assembly to impeach William Ruto.
Orengo claimed that the DP will be impeached for gross misconduct and misuse of the office.
“We will table a motion in the parliament seeking to impeach Ruto over gross misconduct,he isnt above the law,”Orengo said.
