Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has strongly condemned the bail terms given to Ksh.84 million corruption suspect Gov Moses Lenolkulal.
Lawyer Ahmednassir now wants judge Douglas Ogoti to be removed from office for favouring the public opinion and not exercising case decisional independence.
“When a court of law sets bail at Ksh 100 million for Samburu Governor, it shows 2 things. 1.That the magistrates is plainly incompetent and must be removed from office or 2. He is playing to the public gallery and is thus not exercising decisional independence,” tweeted the vocal lawyer.
His sentiments were seconded by former Kiambu governor Hon William Kabogo who claimed that Ksh.100M bail is jailing the suspect before trial
That is jailing before trial.

I agree with you. The magistrate is very incompetent to set bail at only 100M to a governor who stole Ksh 2B. The bail should have been Ksh 2B or more.

Excellent work @ODPP_KE ….the bail term is reasonable… now lock all of them up even if it means the whole government….one step at a time…one suspect at a time. pic.twitter.com/rswy3Bjnez
