In a local radio talk show, Weda said that the DP has shown alarming signs of desperation and has resorted to doing dangerous things for the nation just to realize his ambition.

He gave the recent instance where the DP faulted reports of hunger-related deaths in some parts of the nation which are experiencing a biting drought and cautioned that Ruto’s attempts to hide the government’s failures and going to the extreme just so that he can succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta can be dangerous for Kenyans.

Ruto even threatened that the state would take stern measures against local administrators who made the revelations, saying that no death has been confirmed.

“When it gets to a point that he is even denying the fact that Kenyans are dying of hunger then it gets serious. He is so obsessed with the 2022 campaigns that he cannot even admit that Kenyans are dying in Turkana,” Weda observed.

The High Court Advocate noted that Ruto’s plans could also further fuel the widening of the rift said to be emerging between him and Uhuru, considering that they are now working with different goals.

“It has gotten to a point when Ruto is no longer helping Uhuru with his development plans but is instead seeking time to concentrate on his 2022 plans,” added the analyst.

However, Ruto has insisted that he is not interested in the 2022 issue but would rather concentrate on service delivery for now.
